An Exhortation to Open Air Preachers

"Then He said to them, 'Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.'" (Luke 24:46-47 NKJV)

THE WATCHMAN, AT HIS POST

The watchman, at his post;

He’s loved by some, but despised by most.

There he stands, proclaiming The Light;

While darkness mocks him, Oh what a sight.

Strengthened yet weary, and willing to die;

He pushes forward, with the Gospel Cry!

The Lord Jesus Christ, He’s Worthy to proclaim!

He died on The Cross, despising the shame.

He rose again, to the Father’s Right Hand;

Interceding for us, as we make our stand.

The watchman, at his post, wielding his Sword;

By the strength of The Spirit, in the Truth of His Word.

Standing in the Strength, of The King on His Throne!

Steadfast till the end, by His Grace Alone!

Fixing our eyes, on the LORD of hosts;

Press on, dear watchman.  Stand firm at your post!
